Joan R. Barrett, age 88, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026. She was born in San Francisco in 1937 to Peggy and Felix Riesenberg, Jr.
Throughout her life, Joan enjoyed Giants baseball, walking and hiking, cooking and baking, gardening, traveling abroad, and most of all, raising and caring for her family. She also devoted many years to volunteering and helping those in need.
Joan was known for her gentleness, her quiet sense of humor and her kindness toward others. She brought warmth and generosity to the lives of everyone who knew her and she remained strong in spirit throughout her life.
She is survived by her children, William Barrett, Robert Barrett, John Barrett, and Katherine Millard; her nephew, Felix Riesenberg IV; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Joan will be remembered as a woman of faith and deep devotion to her family. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched, especially her four children.
