Erin Taylor Caughman Photo

Erin passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026. She was born in Bethesda, MD to Adam and Madge Caughman. Survived by siblings Andrew, George and Teresa (Mickey) Lavelle. Beloved aunt of Christopher and Katie Caughman, (late) Cindy Corona and Tim (Renee) Caughman, Heidi, Sean, and Michael Lavelle. Great aunt of Trevor, Jake, Sydney, Quinn and Cameron Caughman. Erin loved her Bay Area cousins and relatives in the Carolinas. She was educated at Sacred Heart Elementary, Star of the Sea Academy, CCSF, and San Jose State University.

Erin was a 40-year graphic artist and cartographer for the CA Coastal Commission and mapped the entire 1,271-mile long CA coastline. She designed, contributed to and co-edited all seven publications of the CA Coastal Access Guide, which highlighted public access to over 1,150 scenic points along the coast. Providing coastal information about natural features and creatures for visitors to discover and notice during each beach adventure gave Erin great joy. People will remember her wonderful smile.
