The San Mateo County Superior Court’s Traffic Division now offers the ability to easily correct “fix-it” tickets completely online.
Launched in September, the court provides a convenient way for people to submit proof of corrections online without having to come into the clerk’s office. Common fix-it tickets include mechanical issues involving headlights or tinted glass, expired registration and lacking valid insurance. Once proof of corrections are submitted online and approved by a judge, the court will lower fines to $25 per correctable violation.
The court offers other online services through the Traffic Division including a program to pay reduced fines and sign up for traffic school, another to request payment plans or complete community service instead of fees, and trial by mail.
