After more than five months, the 79-year-old hiker first reported missing May 1 while hiking along the Lost Trail at Windy Hill Open Space Preserve is still missing, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.Ā Ā 

Margaret ā€œElaineā€ McKinley was originally separated from her family while hiking, and despite ā€œextensive and exhaustive effortsā€ to find her — including 900 specialized search and rescue volunteers, drones and specialized K-9s — there have still been no confirmed sightings, a press release from the Sheriff’s Office said.Ā
