Another day, another no-hitter.
The Warriors posted their third no-no of the season, with Giovanni Bernal tossing his second no-hitter of the season. He had a perfect game in a win over Jefferson in the PAL Lake Division opener March 9.
It was the eighth no-hitter on the Peninsula this season and second this week. Crystal’s Brandon Ma didn’t allow a hit in a 2-0 win over Jefferson Monday.
Bernal was just three walks away from his second perfecto, but did end up with 11 strikeouts.
Bernal also helped his own cause at the plate, driving in a team-high two runs. Emilio Oseguera and Jacob Nabung each drove in a run for South City (7-1 PAL Lake, 14-4 overall), as well.
Harker falls to 5-3 in Lake play and 8-8 overall.
Serra 7, Bellarmine 0
The Padres won their third straight and swept the two-game season series from the Bells to remain a game ahead of Valley Christian atop the WCAL standings.
Serra (7-1 WCAl, 16-3 overall) scored two runs in the bottom of the first and put the game away with a four-run sixth. Josiah Rodriguez drove the offense for the Padres, clouting a pair of home runs as he drove in a game-high four runs. Jake Downing added a pair of RBIs for Serra.
That was more than enough offense for Padres starter Sam Kretsch. He went the distance against Bellarmine (3-5, 10-10), scattering eight hits and striking out eight.
Menlo School 4, Aragon 2
A four-run fifth carried the Knights past the Dons in a PAL Ocean Division meeting.
Aragon had taken a lead with two runs in the top of the second.
Mikey McGrath doubled and drove in a pair of runs for Menlo (5-2 PAL Ocean, 13-7 overall), with Luke Rogers also picking up a pair of RBIs for the Knights.
Ryan Schnell went the distance in picking up the win for Menlo, allowing two runs while scattering nine hits.
Aragon falls to 4-3 in Ocean play and 10-8 overall.
Mills 5, Terra Nova 3
The Vikings tied the game with two runs in the top of the fourth and then scored three in the top of the seventh to top the Tigers in a Lake Division matchup.
Nick Lafon, Aiden Brown, Riley Gauci all drove in a run for Mills (2-5 PAL Lake, 5-11 overall). Nate Lafon collected three hits for the Vikings and also picked up the win on the mound, working six innings, allowing two runs on six hits. Tino Janke pitched the seventh for the save.
Terra Nova (1-6, 4-10-1), which scored twice in the bottom of the first for an early 2-0 lead, got two RBIs from John Snead, while Ronin Sargent went 4 for 4.
Priory 3, Crystal 2
The Panthers stayed undefeated in PAL Lake Division play by holding off the Gryphons.
Matthew Sun, Michael Hidebrandt and Kai Park all drove in a run for Priory (8-0 PAL Lake, 8-1 overall). Hilderbrandt also got the win, throwing a complete game, allowing two run on two hits.
Taj Apparao drove in both runs for Crystal (1-7, 2-9).
Design Tech 18, North Valley Baptist-Santa Clara 0
Arjun doubled, tripled and drove in four runs to lead the Dragons to a non-league win over the Bulldogs.
Eddy Yee and Diego Carrasco each had three RBIs for D Tech (9-2 overall), while Nabhan Singh, Maddox Hom and Wilem Berry all had two RBIs each.
Summit Shasta 16, Pinewood 6

Caden Frost had a monster game in leading the Black Bears to lopsided non-league win over the Panthers.
Frost went 4 for with a triple and seven RBIs. Milo Jung drove in a pair for Summit Prep (6-4-1 overall) as well.
Pinewood falls to 1-4 on the season.
In other action...
El Camino rolled past Westmoor 18-3 in a non-league game. The Colts improve to 11-5 overall, while Westmoor falls to 6-6-1.
Softball
Burlingame 14, Carlmont 4
The Panthers put up crooked numbers in four straight innings as they stunned the division-leading Scots.
Burlingame (2-4 PAL Bay, 7-7 overall), down 2-0 after two innings, took the lead for good with a three-run bottom of the third.
And then the Panthers piled on. They scored four in fourth, two in the fifth and had five more in the sixth. Lily Greiner, Hailey Miller and Kasey Lyons all drove in three runs for the Panthers, while Kelcey Flennikan added a pair.
Lyons got the win in the circle, going the distance, giving up four runs on six hits.
Daniella Smit drove in two runs for Carlmont (5-2, 5-8-1), which dropped out of a first-place tie with Hillsdale.
Hillsdale 12, Aragon 0
The Knights took sole possession of first place in the Bay Division standings with a mercy-rule win over the rival Dons.
Hillsdale (6-1 PAL Bay, 17-1) moves a game ahead of Carlmont, which was upset by Burlingame Tuesday.
Claire Shelton continues to be the engine for the Hillsdale offense as the senior shortstop drove in five runs, going 3 for 4 with a home run and three runs scored. Sammy Marinec added two RBIs for the Knights. Lexi Kuka got the win, giving up just two hits over five innings.
Aragon falls to 4-3 in Bay play and 9-9-1 overall.
San Mateo 11, Sequoia 4
A six-run second carried the Bearcats to the win over the Ravens.
Hailey Wallweber and Jas Bernardino both drove in two runs and combined for seven hits. Nia Mapa had a pair of doubles at the plate and also got the win in the circle for San Mateo (5-2 PAL Bay, 7-6 overall).
Jada Crockett, Nisha Mehta and Keiran Hennelly each had an RBI for Sequoia (0-6, 1-10).
Menlo-Atherton 17, Terra Nova 2
Dani Koo doubled, tripled and drove in five runs to lead the Bears past the Tigers in a PAL Ocean Division game.
Leading 4-1 after two innings, M-A (4-1 PAL Ocean, 6-6 overall) scored seven in the third and six in the fourth to put the mercy-rule win.
Juliana Pandolfo added four RBIs, Kylie Cox had three, while Elise Koo and Ashlyn Roeder each drove in two each. Koo got the win, allowing two runs on three hits.
Kylie Gangi and Kaila Shimizu each drove in a run for Terra Nova ( 3-1, 3-5).
In other action ...
Capuchino (4-3 PAL Bay, 7-10 overall) mercy-ruled Woodside (1-6, 7-9), 12-2.
An 11-run fifth gave Mercy (1-1 WBAL, 7-6-1 overall) a mercy-rule 20-0 win over Castilleja (0-1, 5-2).
South City (1-4 PAL Ocean, 2-12) overall beat Jefferson (0-6, 0-7), 18-0.
Mountain View (8-7 overall) held off Notre Dame-Belmont (7-6) 4-2 in a non-league game.
