A Redwood City man who plummeted from the Shoreline Amphitheatre stage canopy during a Jimmy Buffett concert Thursday night is still listed in critical condition at Stanford Medical Center, the hospital reported yesterday.
Police and emergency personnel said they were horrified as they watched Christopher Hall, 36, free fall 50 feet before crashing down onto the roof of a Buffett tour bus.
Mountain View police Sgt. Keith Plamondon said Hall, who had been drinking that night, had to have snuck into the restricted backstage area to get to the canopy.
He said Hall was as high as 100 feet from the ground when he lost footing on the canopy and slide down the backside.
A spokeswoman for Bill Graham Presents said the accident was an unprecedented event in Shoreline's 17-year-history.
A hospital spokeswoman said this afternoon that Hall is still in critical condition with severe injuries he suffered in the fall. She said he hasn't been moved out of the Intensive Care Unit at Stanford Medical Center since an emergency helicopter flew him there after the accident.<
