The Portola Art Gallery presents "Color Therapy" -- a collection of original monoprints by Portola Valley artist Kim Holl. Kim creates her monoprints using acrylic and a Gelli plate, exploring the dynamic interplay between color, value, form, and texture, brought to life through the layered process in each print.

This body of work grows from an intimate journey of illness and survival and the daily choice to live fully. Rather than looking back at illness, the work centers on what it means to remain present -- to notice color, light, and possibility in each moment.

Kim explains: "Art and color have become my therapy. Making art gives me pleasure, joy, and peace. It is a space where fear quiets and gratitude grows. These works reflect that space -- an affirmation of life, presence, and the quiet strength in choosing to move forward with openness and grace."

She continues: "I hope my work inspires viewers to take a deep relaxing breath, find a place within that is peaceful and calm, and ultimately find their own glimmers of beauty and joy in the world."

The daughter of an artist and an architect, and the granddaughter of a cartoonist, Kim has been practicing art her whole life -- from glassblowing to plein air painting. She double majored in Art and Environmental Studies in college; being inspired by the natural world and making art have always been integrated for her. A reception for the artist will be held on Saturday, June 13, from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Visitors can watch Kim demonstrate her printmaking process on Saturday, June 6, from 12:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. Kim will also be at the gallery on Tuesday, June 9, and by appointment.
