The San Mateo Radio Club will be having our Annual Field Day Event, June 27-28. It starts at 11AM Saturday June 27, and goes continuously until  11AM, Sunday June 28. The public is invited to attend, and see what Amateur Radio can offer as a hobby, and to provide communications in the event of the grid failing, and no cell service or internet.

We can help  First Responders with the means to assist our citizens in the case of a disaster. There is no set schedule; we are actively using our radios to communicate near and far the whole time of the event. The most activity occurs Saturday Afternoon.

This event happens every year, and many thousands of "Hams" get on the air to contact each other all over the country. The national sponsoring organization is the Amateur Radio Relay League. Their website is www.arrl.org/FieldDay. This will explain the event in detail
