A special election has been certified for November 4, 2025, to vote on Proposition 50. This measure would redraw California’s Congressional districts for elections prior to 2031, establishing five Democrat-leaning districts to balance the five new Republican-leaning districts created in Texas.

The North & Central San Mateo County and South San Mateo County Leagues of Women Voters will host a  Pros & Cons presentation via zoom to provide nonpartisan, balanced explanations on Proposition 50. The presentation will include supporting and opposing arguments, with information drawn from a wide range of sources—not just the Official Voter Information Guide.
