Rick Bonilla is a disgrace, and this letter is a direct slap in the face to every resident in San Mateo. The disdain with which he holds the residents is unacceptable, and he should tender his resignation immediately.
Very true, but this is just one transaction. Think of all the commercial buildings changing hands in San Mateo in the course of a year, and this number climbs into the millions very quickly.
An easy $675k to the City of San Mateo, for doing nothing. Yet, the first words out of City Hall are always, "we don't have any money to do that". Bullcorn.
I'm sorry that not everyone can afford to buy a home here, but that's life. There's no shortage of housing, people just want to pay less. Just because you can't afford it doesn't mean it's unaffordable. There's plenty of space in Reno, or Boise, or Tucson if you prefer warmer weather. Wo…
I hope all those parents at the pre school that live in Foster City and San Mateo remember this when the district tries to reach into your pocket with the next parcel tax request, which is coming very, very soon.
Bend over Foster City....the elementary school district can't wait to get a parcel tax on the ballot, and they're not talking about a small one. Get ready for a $500-$1,000 parcel tax. Good times!
Chew on this: the current collective bargaining agreement defines the teachers' work day as 7.25 hours, with 40-60 minutes for lunch. That brings the official work day to 6.25-6.45 hours. Not to mention the work year is a max of 186 days, which is roughly 37 weeks. I'd say their comp isn'…

Big deal, the mayor isn't an elected position, everyone gets a turn. It's equivalent to my four year old getting to be line leader in pre school.
