You have worked hard throughout your academic career. You’ve even served your community as a volunteer. And that’s not all; you’ve amassed reference letters from teachers, coaches, counselors, and community members who praise you. But one task remains – one essential, can’t-rest-yet task that could mean the difference between a college of your choice and dreams: the college admission essay.

However, for some students, the admissions essay can be daunting. Writing for class assignments is one thing, but writing about yourself – and trust us, no matter what the prompt says, the topic is you – can be challenging. Yet, we cannot emphasize the importance of college admission essays enough. A recent report shows that 84% of the top 100 schools on Forbes’ America’s Top Colleges 2023 list deem student essays to be “very important” or “important” to the admissions process. Only four of the top 100 said they don’t look at essays at all.
