The Bay Area is a place that invites trailblazers and pioneers – people who are always on the cutting edge, always reinventing themselves and the world around them. In the process, we have created many classics – we are the birthplace of the world’s most iconic blue jeans, and the most iconic electronics brand – while remaining at the forefront of what’s next.
It only stands to reason that the people, culture, and industries that inspire the world should live in a place that throws convention to the wind.

Classic Communities is a Palo Alto-based builder that has built and managed more than 1,500 homes in 49 communities in Silicon Valley in the last 25 years, and with their new Midtown Place homes in San Mateo they are redefining urban living on the Peninsula. Classic Communities has earned a reputation for award-winning design in preeminent locations by embracing the concept of “new urbanism,” and looks to have created another modern classic in the Bay Area.
The Classics at Midtown Place are a mix of single-family detached condos and townhome-style condos designed around a courtyard plaza and perched at the edge of San Mateo’s bustling downtown. They have earned a walk Score of 92 for their prime location just blocks from the vibrant culinary scene, boutique shopping, and entertainment, and mere minutes away from public transportation and SFO. This quaint community puts you at the heart of it all. Just stepping out of your front door puts a world of opportunities within reach.

“We sold the very first unit, and having been around a lot of construction in my opinion, the quality is unparalleled,” said Brooke Dunbar of Coldwell Banker. “Proximity to the thriving downtown with dining options, businesses, as well as access to Caltrain is a winning combination. We look forward to selling another one soon before they sell out!”
The time to get in on the ground floor is now. The community has 27 homes – 15 single-family detached condos, and 12 townhome-style condos – that went on the market in September, with the first move-ins expected in early December.

Each home features one of nine open-concept floor plans with 2 or 3 bedrooms and 2+ bathrooms stacked in a three-story configuration, giving them a distinctive San Francisco feel inside. All the homes also feature a ground level patio, two dedicated parking spaces and a common courtyard area for socializing with the neighbors. The homes are finished with high-end GE stainless appliances, and chic modern décor throughout. They are cozy yet spacious, classic yet modern, all amidst this cultural and natural wonderland that is the Bay Area.

Buyers at this stage have the chance to customize appliances and finishes as the contractors put the final touches on the units.
“50 percent of the homes are move-in ready and all the finishes are installed,” said Community Sales Manager Nikki Botteon. “In the other 50 percent only cabinets are installed, so the buyer still gets to go to the design center and pick their flooring and their countertops, so they can choose their own finishes and customize them that way.”

Walking into the homes you are immediately struck by the attention to detail and design. You are greeted by a sunlit living area that opens to the patio on one end and flows into the kitchen on the other. The kitchens are comfortable enough to invite quick meals or small culinary adventures, but spacious and refined enough to accommodate friends, feasts, or even cocktail parties. The courtyard lets in just the right evening light for those late summer barbeques, but has hints of that crisp morning walk vibe.
From the intricate details inside the homes, to the burgeoning cultural hub that surrounds it, to the ease of getting to work or getting away for the weekend, it’s easy to imagine calling this place home.
The Bay Area has always attracted people who want it all, but having it all has never been as easy as it is at Midtown Place.

This seems so much like an article and shows up on Google News as such. Headline is also misleading, in that it suggests it is a positive assessment of Downtown Sam Mateo as a whole, rather than a straight up advertisement for a new condo complex. Took me a few paragraphs to figure it out and then get annoyed that I'd been fooled
