Project Impact is a club at Burlingame High School that was founded this year by Megan Clendenin (President), Kaila Johnstone (vice president), and Melissa Mendoza (owner of Paso a Paso). Project Impact helps support the early education of the children in Kalongo, Uganda by providing them with essential materials and daily nutrition meals. We are hosting a Race for a Reason 5k and a Nile Style Mile for children. The mile run will be centered around Washington Park as it is a safe area for kids who will be running. Additionally, we have prizes from Runner's Mind for top winners. The 5k run will start at 9:00 am at Washington park and the fun "Nile Style Mile" will start at 10:00 am on April 25th. So far, we are sponsored by Sanderson Headers, Reconnect Hair Design, Einstein Equity, and Team Hewins.Â
