World-renowned percussionist and Grammy Award winner Sheila E. will rock the house, with special guests BANDALOOP, the unparalleled innovator in vertical performance, at EPACENTER Illuminated: The Afterglow, a brilliant event open to the public, immediately following EPACENTER’s annual fund-raising gala at East Palo Alto's architecturally stunning all-ages creative development center. “Queen of Percussion” and Oakland native Sheila E. has worked with artists including Prince, Stevie Wonder, and Beyoncé, and is one of the few Bay Area artists with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Her nonprofit program, the Elevate Hope Foundation, has championed young Bay Area artists and music education, aligning with EPACENTER’s commitment to developing artistic pathways for Bay Area youth. Also performing is the remarkable West Oakland-based dance company BANDALOOP, internationally known for its vertical performance that activates public spaces, which will turn EPACENTER’s impressive architecture into a massive aerial stage, inspiring awe and wonder with exhilarating sound and awe-inspiring choreography.
