Elie Mabanza & Robert Jackson acoustic duo
Piano wizard Robert Jackson joins forces with guitarist/vocalist Elie Mabanza, spontaneously weaving spellbinding grooves and melodies.
LG Live RWC is an artist-focused concert series held on the middle Friday of every month at Little Green A Plant Bar, a plant shop, gift shop, and cafe in downtown Redwood City. Named after the Joni Mitchell song, Little Green offers a lush, plant-filled setting with high ceilings, warm lighting, and an intimate, comfortable atmosphere.
Exciting update: Little Green now has a beautiful looking and sounding 1957 Steinway Mahogany Model S! For this concert, Robert Jackson will be performing on this piano.
Since January 2023, the series has hosted more than 80 concerts and featured countless local artists. Over the past two years, many new works have debuted here, making LG Live a welcoming home for both creative experimentation and genuine connection between artists and audiences.
Concerts are free and open to all ages, and are supported by pay-what-you-can donations from audience members.
Little Green A Plant Bar’s retail shop is open 30 minutes before and after concert hours.

About the artists:
The music of Elie Mabanza originates from his roots in Congo Brazzaville, Africa. It is largely influenced by his love of rhythm and harmony, as well as a need to tell his stories through song. Elie picked up guitar at age ten after playing percussion in his church from age eight. His brother taught him the basics and Elie took it from there, developing his own chords and rhythmic style. Music consumed him; he practiced relentlessly and is almost entirely self-taught. Painting pictures of both joy and pain with music and his beautiful, haunting voice, Elie sings stories of his life in Africa, as well as the universal truths of human existence. Many are sung in the Lari and Lingala languages of Congo, as well as French and English.
Elie’s goal is to bring music to the world so people can feel happiness and understand that, “life is life and people are people everywhere, even in the midst of terrible suffering.” Elie is a survivor and he feels deep gratitude for his life and his music. Elie plays solo gigs, duets and with his band Mokili Wa. He currently resides in Marina, California.
Robert Jackson is an organist and pianist working in a wide variety of contexts, and who is one of the most sought-after musicians in the Bay Area.
