Censorship is so 1984! Get Your Tickets to the Redwood City Library Foundation’s 4th Annual Upscale Pub Crawl!
Get your tickets now for the Redwood City Library Foundation’s 4th Annual Upscale Pub Crawl on Oct. 8! Help your libraries fight Censorship and ensure the right to read for every resident.
This year’s theme is “Censorship is so 1984!” inspired by George Orwell’s “1984” novel, a timeless reminder about the dangers of censorship. Purchasing a ticket provides the RCLF with the funding to support Redwood City Public Libraries (RCPL) special initiatives such as buying the books for the Summer Learning Challenge, purchasing equipment for the library’s Bridging-the-Digital Divide initiative and funding for the Makerspace.
Several downtown Redwood City pubs and restaurants will provide discounted drinks and bar snacks to Pub Crawl participants. At each of the establishments there will be a display featuring one of the books from the American Library Association’s list of banned books. RCLF board members and volunteers will be available to answer questions about the books and the work the RCLF does for RCPL.
Tickets are $50 each.
