I rarely agree with this anonymous poster, but they are spot-on here. The CCS is penalizing Half Moon Bay High for its success against schools that put money into athletics in order to improve their bottom line.
Can we normalize not using gender names for women/girls sports teams? It's already mentioned in the lede that we're talking about girls basketball, so unless you also call the men/boys team the "Gentleman Colts," there's no call to say "Lady Colts."
