The military wing of Hamas says it will hand over the remains of a hostage late Friday. The Qassam Brigades did not say whose remains would be handed over, only that they were pulled out earlier in the day. It did not say where the remains will be handed over. In recent days, Hamas handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross the remains of nine hostages along with a 10th body that Israel said wasn't that of a hostage. As part of the U.S.-brokered ceasefire deal in the Gaza Strip, Hamas was supposed to hand over the remains of 28 hostages who were kidnapped on Oct. 7, 2023.

Gaza's Hamas-run police force said it killed 12 members of an Israeli-backed militia after detaining them early Thursday. Hours earlier, an Israeli- and U.S.-supported aid group said Hamas attacked a bus carrying its Palestinian workers, killing at least five of them. The militia said its fighters had attacked Hamas and killed five militants. It also accused Hamas of detaining and killing humanitarian workers. It was not immediately possible to verify the competing claims or confirm the identity of those killed. The Israeli military circulated the aid group's statement on social media but did not provide its own account of what happened.
The main Palestinian rescue service in Gaza has condemned Israel's probe into the killings of 15 medical workers last month, calling it a "fabricated investigation." The army announced the results of its investigation on Sunday, saying it had found "professional failures" and dismissing a deputy commander in what it described as an accident. A total of 15 people were killed in the March 23 incident — including eight medics with the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, six members of the Hamas government's Civil Defense unit and a U.N. staffer. The PRCS says the investigation underscores "the occupation's persistence in shielding the truth from the world."
