The California Writers Club, San Francisco Peninsula Branch, has invited award-winning author and editor Laurel Anne Hill to speak (and even laugh at herself) as part of their Writers Helping Writers Program.

Topic: How to edit and self-publish a book for another author when both of you put together STILL LACK some of the essential skills.

Thursday, 9/11, 6:30 – 8 pm at the San Mateo Public Library (55 West 3rd Avenue, San Mateo.)

Laurel Anne Hill—author and former underground storage tank operator—classifies her third award-winning novel, PLAGUE OF FLIES: REVOLT OF THE SPIRITS, 1846, as historical fantasy/magical realism. Plague of Flies has received 17 awards and some terrific professional reviews. Her spirits-meet-steampunk novel, THE ENGINE WOMAN’S LIGHT has won 13 honors and awards plus a Kirkus Star. Over 30 of Laurel’s short stories and many of her short nonfiction pieces have been published. Laurel joined CWC SF Peninsula Branch 25 years ago. She served as Fault Zone: Editor-in-Chief for three of its ten anthologies, prose editor for one, and assistant or mentoring editor for several others. https://laurelannehill.com.
