Ever wonder what it's like being a health care volunteer? Having a weekly shift in the emergency department, surgery reception, radiology, or gift shop? Perhaps a shift welcoming visitors, giving directions, or transporting patients in wheelchairs?

You can find out at Mills-Peninsula Medical Center's Volunteer Open House on Monday, March 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. on the Burlingame campus, 1501 Trousdale Drive (Auditorium 1 and 2). Parking is free.

MPMC has 18 volunteer service areas at its Burlingame and San Mateo campuses. The program has 350 volunteers but needs more as the medical center frequently opens new areas for volunteering.
