Menlo-Atherton 73, Jefferson 46
The Bears rebounded from their first Bay Division loss last Friday by pummelling the Grizzlies.
The win moved M-A a half game ahead of idle Carlmont atop the Bay Division standings.
M-A (9-1 PAL Bay, 16-4 overall) started out hot, scoring 23 points in the first quarter as the Bears built a 10-point lead. They closed with an 18-point fourth period.
Jerry Williams had a monster game for M-A, pouring in 28 points, hitting six 3-pointers along the way. Jacob Sutton added 15 points and Trevor Cadigan chipped in 14 for the Bears.
Jefferson (2-7, 10-10) was led by Esteban DeLeon, who finished with 15 points.
Half Moon Bay 61, Burlingame 50
The Cougars led just 41-38 after three quarters, but pulled away in the fourth by outscoring the Panthers 20-12.
Gio Garduno-Martin drained four 3-pointers on his way to a game-high 26 points for HMB (6-3 PAL Bay, 14-6 overall). Asher Meighen added 13 points in the win.
Burlingame (4-6, 9-13) 16 points from David Parrot and 14 points from Anthony Eis, who connected on four 3s.
Woodside 60, Hillsdale 43
The Wildcats outscored the Knights 16-5 in the second quarter and 15-8 in the fourth to pull away for the win.
Caden Gonzalez scored a game-high 14 points to lead Woodside (3-7 PAL Bay, 9-10 overall). Kevin Perez added 11 points for the Wildcats.
Hillsdale (1-8, 6-15) was led by Tanner Berkson, who finished with seven points.
San Mateo 55, Aragon 50
The Bearcats outscored the Dons 17-7 in the fourth quarter to pull out the victory and stay undefeated in Ocean Division play, running their winning streak to 12 in a row.
Aragon (5-4 PAL Ocean, 11-9 overall) outscored San Mateo (9-0, 16-4) in each of the first three quarters as they built up 43-38 lead going into the fourth.
San Mateo’s Zidane Auzarang went for 20 points for the fifth time in six games. Cam Palma added 12 points and Bryan Ehlerman added 10 for the Bearcats.
Aragon was led by Jasper Caffo, who led all scorers with 21 points.
Sequoia 57, South City 54
The second-place Ravens kept the pressure on first place San Mateo as they rallied to beat the Warriors.
Sequoia (8-1 PAL Ocean, 13-8 overall) led 30-27 at halftime and clung to a one-point lead, 45-44, going into the fourth.
The Ravens had three players score in double figures, led by Isaiah Hahn Tapper, who finished with 17 points. Nick Henderson and Sam Van Wert each added 12 points for Sequoia.
South City (3-6, 10-8) got a game-high 19 points from Isaac Stamper, with Thomas Miller adding 11 and Darren Miller contributing 10 points.
Terra Nova 78, Mills 64
The teams combined for 50 fourth-quarter points, with the Vikings scoring 27, but it wasn’t enough as the Tigers held on for the win.
Terra Nova (7-2 PAL Ocean, 11-9 overall), which led 13-6 after the first quarter, erupted for 28 points in the second to lead 41-15 at halftime, which gave the Tigers enough cushion to withstand Mills’ fourth-quarter onslaught.
The Tigers were led by Kai Gieraths, who finished with 20 points. Cody Anderton added 14 for Terra Nova, while Chase Russel chipped in 10.
Mills (4-5, 6-15) got a season-high 29 points from Jefriel Bacorro. Tyler Ngo added 6 points and Tanay Rai 13 for the Vikings.
El Camino 52, Capuchino 46
The Colts outscored the Mustangs 26-16 in the second and third quarters on their way to the victory.
Anthony Yuen paced El Camino (5-4 PAL Ocean, 15-6 overall), finishing with game-high 17 points. Marco Melendez added 10 points.
Capuchino (2-7, 8-13) got 12 points from Lucas Zayac and 10 from Dominic Vanden Berghe.
Westmoor 56, Oceana 48
The Rams set the tone early, outscoring the Sharks 19-4 in the first quarter
Geordy Zhao led Westmoor (2-7 PAL Ocean, 4-6 overall), scoring 21 points. Roman Banda added 16 in the win.
Oceana (0-9, 9-11) was led by Luis Manuel, who tied for game-high scoring honors with 21 points. Catcher Ashkinos added 11 points for the Sharks.

Aragon 4, Carlmont 1
The Dons scored three times in the first half as they pulled into a second-place tie in the PAL Bay Division standings.
With the loss, Carlmont (5-2 PAL Bay, 15 points; 8-6-1 overall) falls out first place after Menlo-Atherton beat Burlingame, 2-1. Both the Scots and Aragon (5-2, 15 points; 10-3-2) are two points behind the Bears.
Technically, Aragon (5-2, 15 points) scored all five goals as the Scots’ goal was a Dons’ own goal. On the positive side, Damian Samano continues to come on strong late in the regular season, scoring twice and assisting on a third. Marvin Zheng and Pouyan Sheikh rounded out the scoring for the Dons.

The Bears scored once in each half as they stayed unbeaten in Bay Division, moving back into first place in the standings, two points ahead of Carlmont and Aragon.
M-A (5-0-2 PAL Bay, 17 points; 12-0-4 overall) got goals from Nate Thurlow and Pablo Martinez, with Manases Lara Alvarez and Noah de Haaff picking up assists.
Burlingame falls to 1-4-2 in Bay play, good for five points, and 3-10-2 overall.
South City 4, Sequoia 0
The Warriors snapped a four-game winless streak with a shutout of the Ravens, scoring twice in each half as they earned their first win of the season in Bay Division play.
Delfino Martinez factored into all four goals for South City (1-5-1 PAL Bay, 4 points; 3-8-2 overall), scoring once and assisting on the three other goals. Alexis Jimenez added a goal and an assist for the Warriors, with Adrian Yanez and A. Martinez rounding out the scoring.
Sequoia remains winless in Bay play at 0-7 and are 3-11-1 overall.
Hillsdale 2, Half Moon Bay 0
The Knights scored both goals in the first half as they kept a share of the Ocean Division lead.
Both Hillsdale (6-0-1 PAL Ocean, 19 points) and Woodside are deadlocked atop the division standings.
Sineth Andrabadu factored in both goals for the Knights, assisting on both Bernardo Chaparro’s and Jaxon Bunch’s goals.
HMB falls to 3-3-1 in Ocean play, good 10 points, and 6-9-2 overall.
Woodside 5, San Mateo 0
The Wildcats kept pace with Hillsdale atop the Ocean Division standings as they cruised past the Bearcats.
Woodside (6-0-2 PAL Ocean, 19 points; 9-6-1 overall) had five players score. Daniel Artandi scored once and assisted on two others; Luca Marks and Luke Hunter each had a goal and an assist, while Matthew Lacasia and Ben Lange rounded out the scoring.
San Mateo falls to 2-5 in Ocean play, good for six point, and 4-12 overall.
Mills 5, Jefferson 2
Leading 2-1 at halftime, the Vikings tacked on three more goals in the second to win going away.
Julian Mindel had a big game for Mills (2-4-1 PAL Ocean, 7 points; 3-8-2 overall), scoring once and assisting three other. Boston Aurigui added a goal and an assist for the Vikings, with Simon Post, Ethan Cabrera and Kory Wong rounding out the scoring.
In other action...
Design Tech (6-4 PSAL, 7-6 overall) routed Summit Shasta (0-6-1, 0-10-1), 9-1.
Sacred Heart Prep (6-1-3 WBAL, 9-2-5 overall) and Crystal (6-1-3, 11-2-3) battled to a scoreless draw.
Menlo School (10-0 WBAL, 12-2-2 overall) maintained its lead in the WBAL following a 4-1 win over Eastside College Prep (0-7, 3-10).
East Palo Alto Academy (5-3 PSAL, 7-3 overall) handed Nueva School (6-1-1, 8-7-1) its first loss in PSAL play, 1-0.
Second-place Serra (6-3-1 WCAL, 19 points; 10-4-2 overall) could not gain any ground on first-place Bellarmine (9-0-1, 28 points; 13-1-2), but the Padres didn’t lose any ground in a scoreless draw.
Girls’ basketball
Hillsdale 69, Mills 49
The Knights kept their hopes alive for a PAL Bay Division title, while all about ending the Vikings’ chances to repeat.
Trailing by one at halftime, 28-27, Hillsdale (8-2 PAL Bay, 19-3 overall) came out blazing to start the second half, outscoring Mills (6-4, 12-10) 26-9 in the third quarter as the Knights pulled away for the win.
Kiara Nitao led all scorers, finishing with 21 points for Hillsdale. Lexi Carson added 14 and Lila Corkish finished with 12 points – all in the second half. The Knights will be at M-A Friday night at 6:15 p.m.
Mills was led by Kelly Ho, who finished with 8 points, while Sofia Kwan added 12.
Menlo-Atherton 70, Westmoor 35
The Bears stayed atop the Bay Division standings with the rout of the Rams.
M-A (8-1 PAL Bay, 15-6 overall) holds a one-game lead over Hillsdale.
Westmoor (0-9, 7-12) stayed close early, trailing 18-13 after the first quarter, but the Bears held the Rams to just 22 points the rest of the way.
San Mateo 38, Oceana 33
The Bearcats survived a scare from the Sharks as they maintained a share of the Ocean Division lead with their ninth straight win.
Oceana (2-7, 3-16) led 12-9 after the first quarter and 21-18 at halftime, but the Bearcats outscored the Sharks 20-12 in the second half to pull out the win.
In other action ...
Terra Nova (5-4 PAL Ocean, 12-8 overall) held off Capuchino (2-7, 8-10), 35-31.
Carlmont (4-5 PAL Bay, 10-11 overall) doubled up Aragon (2-8, 7-15), 60-30.
Sequoia (5-4 PAL Ocean, 7-12 overall) got past Jefferson (1-8, 3-14), 38-30.
