There’s another worrisome, COVID-related health care scare infecting politically connected doctors who have a bullhorn and a bully pulpit.

Unlike the coronavirus that emanated from China, or Omicron, just discovered in South Africa, this virus comes from the land of MAGA.

“Here comes the MEV — the Midterm Election Variant! They NEED a reason to push unsolicited nationwide mail-in ballots Democrats will do anything to CHEAT during an election — but we’re not going to let them!”

That’s Texas Republican U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson on Twitter, claiming that Omicron is just a Democratic hoax in that party’s quest to win elections at all costs — even subverting democracy. (Hmm, where would they get an idea like that?)

But Rep. Ronny Jackson is also Dr. Ronny Jackson, former White House physician under President Trump and — and! — President Obama. He joins several high-profile, medically trained, supposedly science-hugging professionals who are out of their minds — or just politically shrewd, and perverse.

It’s an outlandish claim that makes Jackson’s previous assertions, calling mask-wearing a “personal choice” and saying that he doesn’t “wear a mask all that often” seem almost quaint.

But they’re not. They are part of a calculated ploy to keep the reins of power in Trump backers’ hands, no matter the cost, even one as high as 777,000 Americans dead.

Jackson joins the likes of Sen. Rand Paul — also Dr. Rand Paul — who has little use for infectious-disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci’s credible medical guidance. In November 2020, Paul, R-Kentucky, urged Americans who had recovered from COVID-19 to “throw away their masks, go to restaurants, live again.”

He claimed that they had become immune. Public-health experts said otherwise. But what can one expect from a politically blinded, self-certified ophthalmologist?

Of course, Florida’s Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo has endorsed hydroxychloroquine to treat COVID-19 — discredited by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration — preaches herd immunity as our way out of the pandemic and has pushed ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug as a COVID-19 treatment. Of course, the medication is not approved for such use. But many people took it anyway, including the version used for livestock, leading to a surge in poison-control-centers calls in the state.

Ladapo abhors mask mandates and refused to wear one while in the office of a state senator who’s also a cancer patient. With bona fides like this, he’s a cinch to be confirmed by the Florida’s Republican-led Legislature. Plus, it’s Gov. Ron DeSantis’ will.

We’re just not sure how this latest scourge can be contained, but voting for the science nerds next time could be the cure.

Hey Miami Herald, doesn’t Florida have the lowest per capita infection rate in the nation? Even though there are no silly mandates, no masks, and almost no other restrictions? Seems to me, these silly mandates, masking, and restrictions are all caused by politically connected doctors who have a bullhorn and a bully pulpit, and willing pawns in the lamestream media. You are correct in that voting for science nerds could be the cure, so anytime you see science nerds emulating the advice of Dr. Ronny Jackson, Dr. Rand Paul, and Dr. Joseph Ladepo please vote for them and vote out these silly politically connected doctors mandating idiocy.

Terrence, where do you get your facts, if you do any research. A simple search shows that Florida is in the top 10 in COVID death rates as shown by

Even if these stats are wrong, why do you persist in saying mandates, masks, social distancing are silly? Why persist in attacking preventive measures to a fatal disease rather than the disease itself?

Terence Y

Rrel, your simple search isn’t focusing on the current infection rate as the link below does:

Breakthrough cases and increasing infection rates, as the above link shows, show mandates, masks, and social distancing are not working as a preventive measure, if at all. Actually, breakthrough cases also show the experimental jabs aren’t working that well, either.

As for preventive measures, I’m not attacking them. I’ve been promoting preventive measures in the form of Ivermectin or HCQ. Just ask India and Indonesia how well Ivermectin preventive measures are working. Of course, the folks at Merck are jealous and want to join the newly minted billionaires at Moderna and BioNTech by selling a more expensive treatment for COVID (assuming it works) when Ivermectin and HCQ are inexpensive and proven effective treatments. I wonder if this new Merck drug will also gain FDA emergency use authorization and use the human population as guinea pigs, similar to how these experimental COVID jabs have used humans as test subjects.

Terence, your link only shows the last week of moderate number of incidences of Covid without regard to death rates. It does not make the case for ignoring vaccination mandates or not using masks, in fact, nothing is mentioned about breakthrough cases or experimental jabs. Florida, thanks to its governor, leads the nation in Covid deaths, thus disproving your initial opinion.

Your promotion of using Ivermectin is completely unfounded and does harm to anyone following your advice. See the ff:

Further India recently disapproved use of Ivermection: see ff:

The disapproval of a drug used to combat worms in animals other than humans is not based on drug companies but actual experience with their human use in India. Last I checked, drug companies also make Ivermectin. Why not attack them with the same fervor you give the Covid drug suppliers?

Rel, the article is about the spread and prevention of COVID and not the number of deaths. But since you bring it up, you may want to check your data. CA is leading the pack at almost 75,000 deaths, compared to about 61,000 for Florida.

Recently, we’ve seen COVID afflicted folks using ivermectin to great success – such as Aaron Rodgers and Joe Rogan. Last month a few Oklahoma doctors used ivermectin as treatment. Uttar Pradesh has an over 98% recovery rate due to ivermectin. Indonesia began using ivermectin in July of 2021 and their COVID cases plummeted. Below are a few links that summarize results from hundreds of studies for both HCQ and ivermectin. I’d recommend reviewing the summaries and noting the overall effects showing the effectiveness of these two drugs but feel free to read the individual studies at your leisure.

As for manufacturing ivermectin or HCQ, maybe you can tell me the cost of manufacturing these drugs, and how much they’re sold for. Ivermectin and HCQ are generic drugs. HCQ has been used since WWII. Ivermectin has been used since the late 70s. How much is the Merck pill selling for? Estimates are 40 times the cost of manufacturing it. Where are the clinical studies showing its effectiveness? We have plenty of data for ivermectin and HCQ in the hundreds of studies detailed in the links above. Can we blame Merck for taking advantage? Not really, if they are providing a drug that is proven to work better than others, including ivermectin and HCQ. We can blame Merck if they are using humans as guinea pigs to obtain data showing the effectiveness, or lack thereof to the detriment of humans volunteering to be test subjects.

Why did you leave Dr. Stella Immanuel off your list of experts? You remember her, the one that said all of women's health problems stem from be inseminated by incubi. After all, she was one of Trump's Covid experts, or was she even too much for you to believe? BTW, how are you doing with your bamboo fibers?

Terence Y

Taffy, my friend, since you’re a known spreader of fake news and lies, I won’t bother researching your smear of Dr. Immanuel. I will remind you of a few of your idols: Newsom, Pelosi, Biden, Obama and his super-spreader event, Mayor Breed and her feeling the spirit excuse, folks at the Emmys, attending the Lollapalooza party, and the list goes on of Dems not wearing masks or social distancing. Let’s also not forget G20 folks yanking off their masks as soon as cameras stopped rolling. I guess these folks all know wearing masks and social distancing are bunk, although they’re happy to fool their gullible subjects and lemmings into believing these silly preventive measures work. BTW, maybe you can help Rel with the effectiveness of ivermectin and HCQ. Remember, you were supposed to be researching the research? Over two months ago now, right? I guess you've seen the light and agree ivermectin and HCQ are effective treatments.
