As a lifelong resident of the Bay Area, I’ve watched with concern as the cost of housing has continued to rise, pushing many of my friends and neighbors out of the communities they love. Proposition 5 offers a practical solution by giving local communities the power to build affordable housing and improve infrastructure without waiting for state intervention.
Prop. 5 ensures that the decisions about our neighborhoods are made by the majority of people who live here, not special interest groups. It’s about taking control of our future and ensuring that our communities remain places where everyone can afford to live and thrive.
I’m voting yes on Prop. 5 because our communities deserve better, and this measure gives us the tools to make it happen.
Thanks for your letter, Mr. Rozlen, however you’ll need to explain the following… You say you’re concerned about the cost of housing continuing to rise, pushing your friends and neighbors out of communities they love. But that’s the problem with Prop 5. Prop. 5 will continue to increase the cost of housing, due to the ease of passing bond measures and fees that homeowners must pay. You don’t realize this but your letter provides more of an incentive to vote NO on Prop. 5. So join me in voting NO on Prop. 5 if you really are concerned about the cost of housing continuing to rise, pushing your friends and neighbors out of communities they love.
