Editor,

Recent CDC data on teen mental health should indeed give us all pause. It was especially brave of Elise to share how she struggled with disordered eating and how she and her peers grapple with mental health challenges. I agree with Elise that we must do more to give our teens the tools they need to appropriately respond to peers’ or their own mental health struggles, and schools are a great place to have these conversations.
Elise, do not listen to the misinformed and insulting article comments telling teens to “get a grip.” This work is important and life-saving. Keep advocating.

Well Sara - at least one school board is grabbing the bull by the horns. That board is suing the social media platforms which are very likely the cause of this mental health problem among young women. If you keep on coddling our youth and put band aids on their problem you are the one who is insulting their intelligence.
