Editor,

I read in today’s San Mateo Daily Journal that Congresswoman Jackie Speier met with Belmont city officials and is meeting with other Peninsula cities to promote low- to moderate-income housing in an already highly congested region (“In Belmont visit, Speier focuses on housing” in the June 18 edition of the Daily Journal). I’m wondering when is Speier scheduled to meet with the Hillsborough town council, her home town, to encourage them to do the same.

How many jobs has Hillsborough added?

Pacman

If my memory serves me correctly, Hillsborough is strictly a residential community. Commercial businesses are not allowed. Recall many years ago, Cathy Crosby (Bing's wife) got a slap on the wrist for running Coit commercials out of her Hillsborough home. In a round about way, the residents do provide jobs for all those folks who tends to their gardens, takes care of their kids, clean their pools and other menial tasks.
