Editor,

Today I read and saw an “opinion” of a San Mateo County representative about a certain fast-food restaurant coming to Redwood City. This representative feels and expresses that this restaurant is not honoring “our values.” This representative feels that this restaurant has an anti-LGBTQ agenda, but for the record they clearly do not discriminate in whom they serve (“Chick-fil-A plans ruffle feathers” in the June 5 edition of the Daily Journal).

If this representative feels “values” are the core of his reason of not wanting this restaurant in Redwood City, to me it looks like his words are not lining up with being “inclusive.” Perhaps the logo for the restaurant could read “we will serve even those who are against us, our chicken knows no hate.” Excuse me Canepa, but I would eat there, so please don’t think your opinion speaks for our whole city.

I happened to see on the news tonight that a lesbian couple, when asked their feelings about the restaurant, said “we can’t wait to try their chicken, doesn’t bother us that they’re are coming to Redwood City.” Wow, thank you.

Giving philosophy Everyone's job at Chick-fil-A is to serve. No matter our title or job description, our reason for coming to work is to generously share our time and talents. Whether it's treating customers like friends, or serving our communities like neighbors, we believe kindness is a higher calling.

Yes, they'll take anyone's money and then make donations to charities that support conversion therapy so I question their true kindness. https://www.businessinsider.com/chick-fil-a-explains-donations-groups-considered-anti-gay-2019-5
