It’s time someone remind Trump that the fires are occurring on Federal forest lands and managed by the Department of Forestry. So, if he thinks they are not being managed properly he had better hire more people and provide more funds.

So, Ms. Freeman, your solution is to expand the government and provide more funds? Maybe Trump has decided the best way to help the state is to let CA burn, similar to Portland. Maybe we can give environmentalists 100 acres in the middle of the forest and see how they manage, a la Lord of the Flies. We can see how many fish they can catch – oh wait, can’t catch them, they’re endangered. We can see how they build shelters – better not cut down any trees. We can see how they produce electricity – oh wait, no sun under the trees. Cow farts? And they can’t build any fires – carbon footprint.

Whatever you do, don't encourage Trump to hire anyone. When elected he said he would hire only the finest people for his cabinet. We have seen what that means. He wanted to drain the swamp so he could get to the slime on the bottom to select the slimiest to hire.

Just listen to Trump and get out those rakes!!

OK Janet, just get all the environmentalists in California out of the way and Trump would move right in. Ms. Freeman obviously doesn't understand how California forests are managed. Might want to do a little research before you comment and show that you do not know what your talking about.

Very derogatory towards Janet... SMH.

How typical to comment that a writer doesn't know what they're talking about but omit any explanation of what it is they don't know. I wish you some more sanity and humanity, and less toxicity after the defeat of your hero in November.

Cindy--Yes. However, we're used to that now. It's the Trump way; knowing more than the experts.

Thanks, Chris.
