Firefighters extinguished a fire in an apartment located above a dry cleaning business that displaced three people in Daly City on Friday night, fire officials said.

Smoke was coming from the second floor of the two-story building when firefighters arrived to 6842 Mission St. around 9 p.m., according to fire officials.

Using hose lines, the firefighters were able to confine the fire to a bedroom, which sustained heavy fire damage, with smoke damage to the rest of the apartment, fire officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
