Wind speeds reached up to 80 mph in Marin County as part of a storm that came through the Bay Area on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Widespread rain was reported earlier Thursday around the Bay Area and Central Coast, with up to 5 inches reported in Ben Lomond in Santa Cruz County, meteorologist Dalton Behringer said.
Oakland had among the highest rainfall totals for urban parts of the Bay Area, with 1.5 inches recorded, Behringer said.
The strongest wind in the region was recorded at Pine Mountain Fire Road west of Mount Tamalpais in Marin County, while other locations around the Bay Area recorded wind speeds above 60 and 70 mph, according to the weather service.
The storm prompted many reports of flooded roads around the Bay Area and near Mark West Creek in Sonoma County, as well as multiple downed trees in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Behringer said.
More rain is expected over the weekend and into next week, according to Behringer.
