Vacant residential homes on the west side of San Mateo have been burglarized in the early morning and police are warning others to prevent more crimes.

Mirroring a statewide trend of property crimes, the city has seen an uptick as well. In the most recent streak, police are investigating multiple residential burglaries of vacant homes under construction in the general area west of South El Camino Real and south of State Route 92.

Anyone with surveillance or any information is encouraged to call Sgt. Lee Violett with San Mateo Police Department’s Investigations Bureau at (650) 522-7662. Anonymous tips can be submitted to tinyurl.com/SMPDTips or by calling (650) 522-7676.
