The San Mateo County Transit District has reached a tentative agreement with employees represented by Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1574, the bus agency announced Friday.

The leadership has scheduled a meeting of its members for Wednesday, July 16, to consider ratification of the tentative agreement. Efforts are underway to schedule a special meeting of the district’s Board of Directors to consider the contract, according to the agency.

Two groups of employees are represented by the ATU — the district’s bus operators and maintenance employees and the employees who staff the customer service center. The previous contract extended from Sept. 6, 2011 to June 30, 2014, according to the agency.
