Police are looking for a man who robbed and assaulted a female victim in San Bruno on Tuesday night.

Officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 500 block of San Mateo Avenue around 10:35 p.m., Sgt. Tony Grech said.

Arriving officers learned the suspect physically assaulted a female victim and took her purse while she was unloading items from her vehicle, Grech said.

The suspect then fled the scene on foot and was last seen going south on San Mateo Avenue, according to Grech.

The victim suffered minor injuries and did not need medical treatment, he said.

The suspect is described as a man last seen wearing a gray hoodie and black beanie covering his face.
