San Bruno officers arrested a man suspected of drinking and driving and causing a rear-end collision in the city late Friday night, police said Saturday.

Paul Anthony Hernandez, 31, of San Bruno, was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol Friday night, taken to a nearby sobering facility and released on a promise to later appear in court, according to police.

The case began when officers responded to the intersection of Sneath Lane and Rollingwood Drive at 11:22 p.m. on a report of a collision. The officers allegedly discovered that Hernandez had rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped for a red light, police said.
