A construction worker was taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon after being struck by a BART train, a BART spokesman said.

The accident happened around 3 p.m. at the West Dublin station, a new station under construction.

As of 3:45 p.m., no trains were running between the Castro Valley and Dublin/Pleasanton stations but all other trains were on time.

About 75 people were evacuated from the train after it struck the man, who was suspended over the tracks by a bucket connected to a truck.
