Americans by choice

The Americans by Choice Awards took place at the Redwood City Library the evening of Friday, Oct. 25, and honored 10 people whose stories of immigration are a source of inspiration. U.S. Rep. Jackie Speier, D-San Mateo, honors Rami Hannoush, right, for his work as a scientist at Genentech and professor at Stanford University. Hannoush was suspended from entering the country for six months, and gained citizenship through the assistance of Speier.
