Land of Opportunity: The Immigrant Experience in San Mateo County

Curator Dana Neitzel works on the exhibits for the ‘Land of Opportunity: The Immigrant Experience in San Mateo County’ that opens June 29. Neitzel is pictured working on a section of the gallery that will speak about migration to the Peninsula from other states — why they left where they were from, why they came to the Peninsula, how they made a life for themselves in this new place and what cultural values they hung on to after arriving here. The public is invited to the free event from noon until 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the San Mateo County History Museum, 2200 Broadway in Redwood City.
