Class Notes: RethinkWaste’s annual Trash to Art contest

Cooper D., a fifth grader at Hoover Elementary School in Burlingame, won RethinkWaste’s annual Trash to Art contest for repurposing refuse into a chessboard. Amen Y., a fourth grader at LEAD Academy in San Mateo, won second place. And Cassily L., a fifth grader at Nueva School, won third place. Winners will be recognized by RethinkWaste and elected officials, plus receive gift cards to a destination of their choice.
