Billie Sue softball

Over Father’s Day weekend, the Burlingame Girls Softball program put on the 28th installment of the Billie Sue Memorial Softball Tournament. Each year, softball players from around the Bay Area come to Burlingame to compete and pay tribute to a young softball player named Billie Sue Cuhna, a young, talented player for Burlingame Bobby Sox who passed away at the age of 9. Each year the Burlingame softball program and the community come together to remember Billie Sue and everything youth sports stands for: friendship, leadership and sportsmanship. This year, Burlingame’s Flames took home the championship trophies in the 8U Gold Bracket, 10U Gold Bracket, 12U Gold Bracket and 14U Bracket. Pictured is the 12B championship team. Front Row: Hailey Miller, Sienna Fuss, Tatiyana Moraga, Kasey Lyons, Elise Spenner, Bill Hou (coach). Back Row: Domonique Moraga (manager), Bob Oldenburg (coach), Caitlyn Casazza, Emmie Hou, Lily Grenier, Quinn Angelos, Taylor Oldenburg, Tilly Haskell and Susan Cunha (Billie Sue’s mom).
