Janet Avedissian was born in Tehran, Iran, in 1938.  After the 1979 revolution, her family left the country for Firenze, Italy, and later immigrated to the United States.  Since childhood, Janet has always admired pottery and ceramics.  After her son and daughter graduated from college, she had more time to study ceramics at Glendale College, College of Marin, and College of San Mateo.  Janet's sculptures are inspired by circle motifs.  She says, "To me they are symbols of love and unity.  I hope my work inspires others."
