I'm amazed, with screensful of news, no one here comments on the situation in Iran? Is this possible, or did I wander into a backwater of news and opinion? I dunno - you gotta tell me. ...

Meantime, just a short comment: Neda is my sister, my daughter, my cousin, my lover, a good friend ... she has been publicly martyred for a cause for which our ancestors fought - the simple right to speak freely, to peaceably assemble, to vote - and have it count!

But privately, silently - for more than a century, in the Iran that we are looking at finally, and in many other parts of the Islamic world, there are people who are being martyred - either with their lives or by other means. Look closer - here's a link: Mona's Dream (http://www.monasdream.com/). There's a film being done about it.

Notice how it takes a burst of light to scatter roaches?

It reminds me of the 60s. (Vietnam Vet) I wish I could join the people of Iran to help their protestations. Obama is doing the right thing staying out of the fray. The Iranian leaders will be overthrown. Iran will become a secular state ruled by democratic laws. The people always win at the end. Alas, much blood will be flow in the streets. This struggle show the lies and cruelty of religious leaders, they have no business running a country.
