What would you do if you were in the ring with a world champion?
In the rush of paying all your bills and meeting the demands of life do you sometimes feel you’re on the receiving end of a prize fighters kicks or punches? “STAY DOWN, don’t get up” was heard shouted from many of the losing corners of a fight with “The Greatest” Muhammad Ali!

What makes a champion a champion is not how many times they are knocked down it’s how many times they get up. Being on the receiving end of punches and kicks isn’t a “good” feeling no matter who you are, but there is a lesson there. You may never step a foot in a ring, an octagon or a cage, but you CAN learn something from a champion. When they decide to get up or “rise up” after a knock-down, they do so knowing that getting up means taking the harder more physically painful path. Success is always uphill.

There is more value in rising than in falling. Getting up and fighting means you are given a chance of winning. Our victory is created in the moment we decide to stand on our own instead of staying down after a fall.

Victory happens when we rise above the momentary challenges and pain; victory happens when on our own we give our personal best. It’s not the perfect punch or kick that wins the fight. The perfect punch or kick can cause a knock out, but it’s the spirit of the fighter that threw the punch or kick which truly wins the fight!

Whether you win by knock out or whether you win by decision, know your victory lives somewhere inside you. You say, “I don’t want things to get any worse, it already feels like it will never end.” Guess what? The end always comes. It always does, that is a fact. Where do you want to be?

Whether your fight is with your attitude, your thinking or you simply have too much month at the end of the money, you’ve got to let the champion in you rise up. Your challenges, your fights and battles of today will not last, but the memory of how you rose above them will. Your sweet memories will last for years and years to come.
