Just what is it about animal stories that garners so much interest? In the past week, we have had a man accused of killing his girlfriend's dog, a man who pleaded no contest to stomping on his roommate's kitten, a man who dognapped several pit bulls and a man who stalked and harassed animal researchers.
The reponse to these stories has been wide and varied. But for the most part, most find these crimes particularly egregious.
I also find it interesting that another ongoing story placed prominently in our paper — the state budget debacle — is getting far less attention ...
