Do you know who your real competitor is? The one who seems to come up with the counter solution to each solution you invent? This is the exact same person that stands in the way of your breakthrough moment. It’s SO frustrating when you can taste success, but are unable to get your hands on it when your competition shuts you down. It’s not the person next to you.

ME!, that's who stops me. I have a great idea everyday. Once in a while though I have a truly AWESOME idea, and I KNOW its awesome, so I share it with my friends and family. Yet 3 months later I've still got this awesome idea with little to say when my friends and family ask, "how's that project you started coming along?"

ACTION, it’s what separates knowledge and power. The old saying was only partially correct. What you must do is compete with your own best SELF! If I am in the habit (and it IS a habit) of competing with others, I will find myself ultimately incomplete. There are plenty of people that I am currently more successful than, and there are many which are more successful than me! So if I am habitually comparing myself to others, I'll either find myself getting a false sense of success, OR I'll find myself inadequate!

My own best self is the one who has shown up for ALL of my previous success. I see growth when I look beyond the opinion or values of others for "social proof." I feel success beyond public opinion that says what I am doing is good; I feel success when I follow the compass true north. I am the catalyst for the values success takes in my life.

Initially it's all that a little seed can do to sprout! Then that process continues, but each time with a new challenge. The tree across the road does not help sprouting or the bearing of fruit for a newly planted seed! People however don’t grow like trees. A tree will do EVERYTHING it can to grow to its FULLEST potential. WE on the other hand have be given the choice to select our altitude in life.

Instead of spending all that time and effort looking for what your success is for someone else, start being it yourself! The best definition of your success is your life, so define it with actions. Be the success you wish to see in the world. To the person that says, there is one road to success I say, “Fine! I’ll choose to follow that road from the air, OR I’ll tunnel under the obstacles” you see, we all have been given the choice.
