This News item notes that, due to the overall depression/failure of the General Economy here in California, a 'Balanced Billing' Crisis is affecting all Medical Insurers throughout the State of California. Apparently, what this means is that Patients of ER and Outpatient Clinics, who have Medical Services that are covered under Contract with Medical Insurance Plans, are going to find that their Insurance Company will begin refusing to pay for their Covered Services, and denying payment with no justification for Denial-of-Payment other than the 'State-of-the-General-Economy'! Since legal complaints for non-payment of medical bills by the Insurance Companies would take years of legal actions in the Courts, the Insurance Companies are betting that they can prevail in not paying Patients Claims!
