In case you folks missed it, here are two interesting news items from a recent 5:30PM NBC World/Nightly News broadcast.
1. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is now recommending that all Physicians everywhere totally stop performing the usual PSA Prostate Cancer Screening Test for Men of all ages! It seems the results of several long-term studies of the PSA Test have now been released. These long-term studies examined thousands of Patients who received the PSA Test, versus thousands of Control Patients who did not receive the PSA Test. The Results show that almost 70% of the Patients receiving the PSA Test died within several years, whereas none of the Control Patients died in the same time! NIH contributes the mortalities to both the presciption drugs and prostate therapies that the PSA Screened/Tested Patients received following such Testing by their Physicians, which apparently was the cause of the premature deaths! In other words, 70% of those Men tested for Prostate Cancer died, whereas those Men not tested for Prostate Cancer did not die!
2. It seems that the Beijing Government has more than one secret-up-their-sleeves, in their efforts to insure the success of the Beijing Olympics! Besides putting millions of Beijing workers out-of-work by temporarily shutting down thousands of air-polluting factories and businesses, and then forbidding other millions of Chinese residents of the Beijing area to drive their cars on alternate days, all in order to reduce air pollution for the Olympic Games, it seems that Beijing also has a water problem!
The Beijing area has actually not had any significant rainfall in over 10 years and normally all of the ponds, lakes and small rivers around Beijing would normally be parched bone-dry! But, for the Beijing Olympic Games, all of those lakes are now brimming full of water, fountains-of-water are exploding across the city, and there is water everywhere! But, all this water has actually been created by the Beijing Government, at the expense of millions of Chinese farmers in the far western territories of China, who have had their fields and farmlands drained bone-dry by the Beijing Government, as the Government pumped every last drop of their water off to Beijing! The Western farmlands are now bone-dry, no crops at all are growing, and thousands of farmers are actually dying without water! In the meanwhile Beijing, whose underground water-table reserves are falling at the rate of over 10 feet every year, now has plenty of imported water for the Olympics!
