From Mess To Success™

How many times have you felt at your absolute bottom? So often when we begin to build some momentum in a good direction something comes along to cut us off right at the knees. If you are anything like I am, you get frustrated and then that frustration turns to confusion as you begin to ask yourself the question, “why can’t I seem to get ahead?”

I have been given the opportunity and the chance each week to talk with you the reader about different facets of life that seem to lead us to ask ourselves why. From Mess To Success™ is all about your business, your business of personal success. As your weekly columnist I am wholeheartedly interested in seeing you become the best you can be. Who am I? Why do I care? I’ll tell you why.

My company is a small business. In his book “Start Late, Finish Rich” author David Bach reports that in the past decade small businesses generated 60- 80% of all the new jobs created in the United States. We small businesses drive the economy of our country. I am in the business of serving others through helping them capture the power they feel they no longer possess in life. Through physical training, studying the martial arts and applied focus I have had the opportunity of seeing thousands of people take back that sense of ownership in their lives. I’d like to see you do that too. I have been training in the martial arts over 20 years, I train personally with TaeBo® creator Billy Blanks® and for the past 5 years have appeared in the best selling fitness videos of all time, TaeBo®http://www.billyblanks.com. In fact, you’ve most likely seen my smiling face on the TaeBo® infomercial or playing on an in-store Dvd as you walked into Bed Bath and Beyond. I have trained with and learned from a man who ran 1000 miles in 11days. I have run 100miles in a single day. I was a team captain and graduate of the most comprehensive martial arts training program ever designed, The Ultimate Black Belt Test© for which I did more than 100,000 push ups in a single year and launched a One Million Acts of Kindness initiative and websitehttp://www911aok.com. I am a 2006 graduate of Anthony Robbins Mastery University® and I have had the chance to mentor from and train with some of the most successful people in the areas of physical fitness, personal success, financial abundance and spiritual enlightenment. Whether it was a 6day cleansing fast, lessons in a monastery or a private audience with The Pope, I’ve come to understand the oneness that we all share, perhaps a one single great truth. We are all the same, yet we are each different. We are all the same in that we have fears, anxieties, insecurities and personal doubts; yet we are all different in the choices we make and the actions we take regarding these doubts, insecurities, anxieties and fears.

I consider you different and above average. I want to thank you for continuing to this far along. By reading this far, you are in the smaller percentage of the population that actually finishes what it starts. There are millions and millions of partially read books sitting on bookshelves all across this beautiful country of ours. How else can you explain the success of Amazon used books or EBAY for that matter? If you will commit yourself to continuing to read my column each week, I can promise you new thoughts that can take you, your life and your personal success in a new direction. Why me? I have learned to speak to the heart of a person, and it is my sincere hope, wish, prayer and dream that through our combined efforts your life and my own might be made greater through our time spent together. Perhaps you will “boldly go where no man has gone before” or you might just look at things in a new way. However it ends up, know that both ways can and will get you out of the rut that life seems to have for you each day. Until next week………

Peter,
Thank you always for your inspiring words. I know how it is to work and to succeed as a small business. I understand vision and have fullfilled may dreams and goals. I respect anything that you embrace and when reading the email, "Please help Peter Johnson" I couldn't wait to participate.

Although, I have a grudge today. I feel that the newpaper that you are writing has a passion to report such negative material. I do feel that my business is suffering in part due to the media. Ironically, they report untrue statistics on the front page of the paper, making my day that I planned on being very positive, incrediabley negative. The same days that they report the garabage, they ask me to buy an ad in the back of the paper (to promote the very same business). Are they all working together?

I am striking the newpaper. They have become an enemy in Real Estate. Strong words I know. I would like them to apprieciate how we have supported their business in the past. Let's face it, people do not buy a house by reading the newspaper, they read the news and if the news is good about Real Estate, they may think about buying a house. We would buy ads, and support them if our clients could gain something from there articles.

Not all Real Estate news is bad. The paper has just fallen into a habit of being negative. You know alot about habits, Peter. Can you help the writers of this paper gain some positive habits? Maybe the Real Estate Market will be able to change in 21 days.

Adlai Stevenson in a 1962 address to the United Nations is credited with the following quote about Eleanor Roosevelt
"She would rather light candles than curse the darkness, and her glow has warmed the world"

I read your post and this quote came to mind. Also one more by Gandhi
"We must be the change we wish to see"

It is through our greatest personal and professional weapons of REMAINING positive in the face of adversity that has us being justly the stewards of the success we experience in life. I hope this sheds light on your heart and this topic.

The newspeople all report negative news. Why is that? Isn't the positive news as important? But the TV newspeople are the worst in terms of a herd mentality toward the negative. Let's support the positive in this column of Peter's. Positive--Power.
