Robert Cissna, 79 year-old Belmont resident was convicted
March 7, 2008 in San Diego County Superior Court on one count of continuous sexual abuse of his grand-daughter.

His sentence could be up to 16 years in prison.

"You don't want to think that this ever happens in a law enforcement family."

This is another example of San Mateo County Law Enforcement protecting themselves instead of the children.

Best of luck to this child she is a HERO.

I wonder if he molested other kids. Hope they're not staying silent out of shame.

The former 79 year old employee of the Burlingame Police Department was sentenced to 6 years in prison for sexually molesting his pre-adolescent granddaughter. Cissna was convicted of sexually abusing his granddaughter between 1998 and 2004,

He was tried and convicted in San Diego, yet a San Mateo County Superior Court Judge ruled he could remain free until his appeal is complete.
