It is not often that two natural disasters dominate the front page for so long so close to each other. But that was the case this month with the Southern California wildfires and the mass oil spill in the Bay.
Though Southern California has had its share of wildfires in the last few years, this one was particularly bad and had the potential to affect fire services in this county as so many firefighters were down south helping.
The oil spill has so many stories to it, it is mind-boggling. Coast Guard miscommunication, environmental damage, oiled birds and the delay of the crab season. It makes us realize just how important the Bay is to us.
