In the last month, a man who claims to be a distraught father and/or friend of Dr. Ayres' victims has been making calls to people in the community and trying to pump them for information about new victims, Ayres' MO, and the current status of the District Attorney's investigation. He uses different aliases and has been known to mention several of Ayres' colleagues and other details in an attempt to sound legitimate.
THE MAN IS AN IMPOSTOR. DO NOT SPEAK WITH HIM. We believe he is an investigator working for Dr. Ayres and his lawyer.
The only people the victims of Dr. Ayres and their parents should be talking to are prosecutor Melissa McKowan in the San Mateo district attorney's office or the San Mateo Police Department.
