The Giants new manager doesn't do much for me. He's not a bad choice and he has good knowledge of the NL West.
I think it's more of a signal from Giants management that they're going to stick with a team that is comprised of veteran, second-tier free agents, much like the last several years.They'll remain "Competitive" in the NL West.
I believe it's also a sign that the Giants will re-up with Bonds for one more season. I don't see them making a big splash in the free agent market.
